William 'Billy' Shaffer Obituary

William E. ‘Billy’ Shaffer, age 56, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville, Illinois. He was born on May 19, 1964 in Columbia, Tennessee, the son of Earl William ‘Bill’ and Barbara (Miller) Shaffer.

Billy worked for Buehler’s Buy Low, and played the bass guitar and drums for many years. He loved animals, especially his dogs. He will be remembered as a very kind person.

Preceding him in death was one brother, Donald ‘Dusty’ Shaffer and his maternal grandmother, May Mayberry.

Survivors include his parents; one brother, James ‘Rudy’ Shaffer and wife, Tina of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one nephew, Brody Shaffer and wife, Liana of Evansville, Indiana; two nieces, Kayla Vazquez and husband, Robert of El Paso, Texas and Shay Blasdel and husband, David of Bloomfield, Indiana; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A public graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 1:00 PM CST at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
