Virgil 'Sonny' Lee Maugh

Virgil Lee ‘Sonny’ Maugh, age 58, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on December 15, 1962 in St. Joseph, Missouri, the son of Colleen Annabelle (Lucas) Maugh. He married Bonnie Loner on October 14, 1990, and she survives.

Sonny was the owner and operator of Maugh Trucking.

Preceding him in death were his parents and three sisters, Jewell Maugh Rakowiecki, Laquetta Weaver, and Denise Maugh.

Survivors include his wife; five children, Jerehmy Vaughn, Sr. and wife, Terri of Arcola, Illinois, Noel Loner and fiancé, Colton James of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Justin Maugh of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Austin Maugh of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Adam Maugh of Lawrenceville, Illinois; three sisters, Nadine Mills of Smyrna, Tennessee, Lorraine Ross of Oaktown, Indiana, and Linda Lucas of Washington, Indiana; and seven grandchildren, Nicholas Ryan Vaughn, Jerehmy Lee Vaughn, Jr., Trevor Watkins, Savanna Loner, Grayson James, Daniel Lee Maugh, and Alice Maugh.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, July 01, 2021 at 2:30 PM CDT at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
