Trudy A. Duncan

Trudy A. Duncan, age 57, of Sumner, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, March 01, 2023 at the Oakview Nursing Home in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. She was born July 18, 1965 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of Donald L. and Georgia (Schultz) Dobbs. She married Brian Duncan on June 26, 1993, and he survives.

Trudy worked for United Methodist Village as a CNA. She enjoyed the residents at the village. In earlier years, she worked at the Candle Lite restaurant in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Trudy could be found watching the Bears Football Team and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. She enjoyed crocheting, and most of all loved spending time with her dogs.

Survivors include her husband, Brian; her children, Mykala Duncan of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Mitchell Duncan of Sumner, Illinois; one brother, Daniel (Sharon) Dobbs of Sumner, Illinois; four sisters, Debbie (James) Coulter of Sumner, Illinois, Teresa (Bill) Gerber of Bridgeport, Illinois, Sandy (Tony) Clark of Sumner, Illinois, and Shawn Dobbs and Paul Lopez, two grandchildren, Jaxon Potter and Ledger Potter; along with several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 2:00pm at the Sumner Free Methodist Church in Sumner, Illinois. Visitation is also Saturday from 12:00Noon until the service hour of 2:00pm. Memorial donations in Trudy’s name may be made to the Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center and Wig Shoppe. Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
