Thomas O. Kent

Biography Thomas O. Kent, age 74, of Birds, IL passed away Monday, November 19, 2012, at Lawrence Community Healthcare Center in Bridgeport, IL. He was born November 14, 1938, in Crawford County, IL, the son of Frank J. and Theda V. (Sweet) Kent.. He married Mary Ann Divine on June 30, 1962, and she survives. Thomas was a semi tractor/trailer driver for area trucking companies. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church and was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Flat Rock Lodge. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann of Birds, IL; two sons, Mark (Nelly) Kent of Birds, IL and Thomas P. (Tracy) Kent of Frostproof, FL; four daughters Carrie (Ronnie) Decker of rural Lawrenceville, IL, Kim (Michael) Robinson of Robinson, IL, Debra Ann Kent of Maryland and Barbara Joann Deweese of Indianapolis, IN; two brothers James H. Kent and Forrest Gene Kent, both of rural Flat Rock, IL; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Price Cemetery in Russellville, IL. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation with envelopes available through the funeral home.
