Scott D. Piper, age 48, of Palestine, Illinois passed away on Thursday, September 09, 2021 in Vincennes, Indiana.
He was born on May 19, 1973 in Olney, Illinois, the son of David and Twyla (Grove) Piper.
Scott was a 1991 graduate of Red Hill High School. He served in the United States Navy from March 1992 until September 1994. He then worked for Jim Piper Construction for several years. He was a member of the IBEW Electrical Union. He also worked for Lytle Construction, and Marathon Oil Refinery. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, hunting, camping with family and spending time with his children.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Grove and paternal grandparents, Cecil and Dorothy Piper.
He is survived by his parents, David and Twyla of Lawrenceville, Illinois; his children: Brendyn Piper, Halle Piper and Aidyn Piper all of Palestine, Illinois; maternal grandmother, Phyllis Grove of Bridgeport, Illinois; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Emmons- Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will also be Thursday from 11:00 AM until the service hour of 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bridgeport Cemetery, with military rites.
