Russell Griggs Obituary

Russell L. Griggs, age 60, of Sumner, Illinois, formerly of Frankfort, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at his residence. He was born on May 06, 1960 in Joliet, Illinois, the son of Ferne ‘Sam’ and Loretta (Arnold) Griggs.

Russell was a concrete finisher. He enjoyed being outside, and his hobbies included being an avid reader, fishing, hunting, gardening, target shooting, golfing, as well as spending time with his dogs and cats. He and his father enjoyed watching Cubs baseball, football, and NASCAR.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Loretta Griggs.

Survivors include his father, Sam Griggs of Sumner, Illinois; one daughter, Kali Griggs and significant other, Kurtis Gielow of Lowell, Indiana; one brother, Steven Griggs and wife, Carol of Somerset, Kentucky; two sisters, Vicki Harmon and husband, Bob and Nancy Liberman and husband, Michael all of Sumner, Illinois; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 2:00 PM CDT at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois, and may be viewed with the following link: https://www.facebook.com/emmonsmaceysteffey. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM CDT at the funeral home.
