Roxie Irene Cochran, age 87, of Lawrenceville passed away May 7, 2011 at Lawrence Community Health Care Center in Bridgeport.
Born, July 17, 1923 in Lawrenceville, IL she was the daughter of Elwood and Irene (Byers) McKeighen. She married Ellis R. Cochran December 12, 1937 and he passed away April 27, 2000.
Roxie was a homemaker and worked at the Chuckwagon Restaurant as a cook for 17 years, where she was "known for her famous pies". She attended the 6th Street Wesleyan Church in Lawrenceville.
Roxie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ellis, one daughter Rose Crum, one infant son, one brother Elvin McKeighen, and one son-in-law Mack Hensley.
Survivors include four sons Earl "Bob" Cochran (Marcia) of Lawrenceville, Gary Cochran (Joyce) of Aurora, IN, Elvin "Kenny" Cochran of Vincennes, IN; Ronnie Cochran (Lisa) of Mt. Carmel, IL; five daughters Roxie Wright (Edward) of Princeton, IN, Ruth Douglas (Stanley) of Wadesville, IN, Ruby Waller (Kenny) of Lawrenceville, Alberta Hensley of Loves Park, IL and Teresa Cunningham (Dan) of Lawrenceville; one brother Eugene McKeighen of Lawrenceville, 34 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. till the hour of service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Lawrence Community Health Care Center Activities Department.
