Rolland R. 'Pete' Davis

Rolland R. ‘Pete’ Davis, age 77, of Noble, Illinois passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Robinson Rehab and Nursing in Robinson, Illinois. He was born on September 29, 1946 in Highland, Illinois, the son of Peyton Randolph and Lella Pearl (Riggin) Davis. He married Judy Provines in 1972, and she preceded him in death in 1998. He then married Rita ‘Diane’ Chansler on June 10, 2000, and she survives.

Pete was a 1964 graduate of Unity High School, and a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with his Business Degree. He worked for the United States Postal Service, and retired as a rural mail carrier. He attended the Highway Church of God and Mt. Gilead Church. He was a member of the White Squirrel Cruisers Club. He enjoyed harness racing, airplanes, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Bears, as well as attending events with his grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; first wife, Judy; and one brother, Doug Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Diane; three children, Brad Kuhlig and wife, Abby of Olney, Illinois, Lacie Lewis and husband, Jake of Olney, Illinois, and Jessica Edwards and husband, Jason of Humboldt, Illinois; two sisters, Linda Davis and Donna Davis both of Robinson, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Reed Kuhlig, Naleigha Harrison, Delton Morgan, Kase Morgan, Hannah Lewis, Madison Lewis, Trevor Edwards, Ivie Edwards, and Blaze Edwards; one godchild, Erin Vest; two special nephews, Michael Davis and Noah Davis; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM CDT at the Highway Church of God, located at 10611 Kaskaskia Lane in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM CDT at the church. Burial will be in the Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Gideon International, Mt. Gilead Church, or the Highway Church of God. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
