Obituary
Robert A. Satterfield, age 81, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Aperion Care in Bridgeport, Illinois. He was born on January 31, 1942 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of Elmer and Edith (Parish) Satterfield. He married Marilyn A. Ferguson on October 27, 1962, and she preceded him in death on March 25, 2017.
Bob was a boat mechanic at The Boat Shop in Vincennes. He enjoyed being with his friends while working in the garage, boating with his family, deer hunting, as well as going to the farm and riding his side by side.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; one brother, Stanley Satterfield; one sister, Alice Bach; and one son, Jeffrey Satterfield.
Survivors two daughters, Krista Spencer and husband, Marc and Cherie Carey and husband, Dean all of Lawrenceville, Illinois; four grandchildren, Ciarra Spencer, Erin Spencer, Blaize Kimmell, and Zack Carey; and one great-grandchild, Solstice Whithrow.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 6:00 PM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM CDT at the funeral home. Following the service, per Bob’s wishes, his body will be cremated. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
