Robert A. Fielden, age 84, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Aperion Care in Fairfield, Illinois. He was born on September 11, 1937 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of Walter Fielden and Lester and Elizabeth (Plowman) Catt. He married Janet Biehl on September 19, 1956, and she survives.
Bob was a 1955 graduate of LHS and served his country in the United States Army in 10th Mountain Division in Germany. He worked for Texaco for 13 years and retired from American Electric Power Plant. His memberships included the Central Christian Church and the VFW Auxiliary. He served as a church deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher, lay preacher, and school crossing guard. He loved Jesus, his family, baseball, fishing, and apple pie.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; two children, Robert W. Fielden and wife, Candy of Leopold, Indiana and Jeffrey T. Fielden and wife, Torrie of Goshen, Ohio; three sisters, Myra Croslow of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Kay Uranga of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Bonnie Allison and husband, Steve of Louisville, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Meagan Monds and husband, J.T., Hunter Fielden, Ryan Fielden and wife, Marah, and Justin Fielden and wife, Erin; five great-grandchildren, Elijah Fielden, Oliver Fielden, Sawyer Fielden, Hayes Fielden, and Linden Fielden; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 12:00 PM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkside Library Fund.
