Richard D. Bach

Richard D. Bach, age 87, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away peacefully with his wife and pastor by his side on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on December 05, 1933 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of George W. and Irene (Haines) Bach. He married Wanda S. Williams on January 01, 1982, and she survives.

Richard was a lifelong farmer, and retired in 2010. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church, where he served as a past elder and trustee. He was a news and weather buff; and enjoyed taking drives with his dogs checking farm crops, as well as traveling and spending time with his family. He served his country in the United States Army.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, George ‘Bud’ Bach, Melvin Bach, and Merle Bach; and two sisters, Maybelle Roberts and Wanda Bach.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda; two sisters-in-law, Martha Herrin and Rosalie Williams; as well as 19 nieces and nephews, Cheryl (David) Sink, Cindy (Kirk) Spillman, Matt (Susan) Bach, Debi (Philip) Fish, Joe Bach, Kathy (Aaron) Musick, Steve (Anita) Bach, Polly (Tarry) Crumley, Michael (Ginny) Bach, Dianne (Barry) Haste, David (Shawna) Williams, Peggy (Jim) Coleman, J.D. (Anita) Killion, Roger (Maurica) Killion, Vic (Elaine) Williams, Doug (Jennifer) Williams, Jeff (Jennifer) Herrin, Jenni (Larry) Dillon, and Debby (Adam) Hawkins; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 10:00 AM CDT at Pleasant Ridge Christian Church, and may be viewed with the following link: https://www.facebook.com/emmonsmaceysteffey. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM CDT at the church. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery, with military rites. Memorial donations may be made to Pleasant Ridge Christian Church Building Fund or New Hebron Christian School Scholarship Fund.
