Pauline 'Peg' Kirkwood

Pauline ‘Peg’ Marie Kirkwood, age 90, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at her residence. She was born on December 7, 1929 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of John Cad ‘JC’ and Lela (Lockman) Lockhart. She married Glen Martin Kirkwood, Jr. on December 24, 1948 and he preceded her in death on May 24, 1996.

Peg ‘Gammy’ was the center of her family. She was a homemaker and farmwife. She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church, where she could always be found in the kitchen helping with bereavement dinners. She was a voting judge, enjoyed gardening, and donated 14 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Robert Lockhart and James Lockhart; five sisters, Kathleen Miller, Evelyn Pargin, Reba Shidler, Imogene Hensley, and Vera Kirkwood; and one granddaughter, Andrea Harper.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Croslow and husband, Jack and Susan Garrett and husband, Daniel all of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two sisters, Mary Mickler of Lawrenceville, Illinois and June Elliott of Godfrey, Illinois; two granddaughters, Lorrie Gray and husband, Chad and Juli Tredway and husband, Dusty; and four great-grandchildren, Cindel McClaskey, Boston Gray, Nox Gray, and Kaya Tredway.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the American Red Cross.
