Paula Kay Rose

Paula Kay Rose, age 62, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on October 26, 1959 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of Paul K. and Shirley Y. (Hunt) McKinney. She married James T. Rose on February 14, 2021, and he survives.

Paula was a bartender and waitress at Gilley’s and an EMT while she lived in Houston, Texas, as well as a housewife. Her hobbies included listening and playing music, playing the flute, and gardening.

Preceding her in death were her parents; grandparents, Willis and Elizabeth Hunt; father-in-law, Thomas Rose; and former husband, Douglas Lester.

Survivors include her husband, James; one brother, Franklyn McKinney and wife, Eddie of Palestine, Texas; two sisters, Robin L. Mazzeo and husband, Michael of Wilmington, North Carolina and Tracy A. Hill and husband, Tony of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two aunts, Margie Hunt of Bridgeport, Illinois and Betty Carter of Lawrenceville, Illinois; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Wesleyan Christian Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois, with refreshments to follow. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
