Paul Meeks

Paul W. Meeks of Marion, Indiana passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016. Paul was born October 9, 1929 in Zafarabad, India to missionary parents. He continued the ministry legacy by serving as a missionary and pastor for more than 60 years. He and his wife, Darlene, pastored in Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana; as well as serving overseas in the Philippines, Zambia, and Albania. Paul and Darlene enjoyed hosting people from numerous nationalities in their home and encouraging young people. They enjoyed music and often sang, as well as played numerous instruments together. He is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; his parents, Ellis and Chloie Meek; three sisters, Virginia Wright, Ruth Carpenter, and Jane Duckworth; as well as brothers-in-law, Wayne Wright, P.O. Carpenter, and Leslie Duckworth. He is survived by three sons, Phillip (Tracey), Steven (Sue), and Mark (Melinda); one daughter, Elizabeth (Greg); 13 grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ruth Miller; as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at College Wesleyan Church in Marion, Indiana, on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 10:00AM; and graveside services will be held at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery in Lawrenceville, Illinois, on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 10:00AM. Memorials in honor of Paul may be sent to the Meeks-Wright Scholarship Fund at Indiana Wesleyan University, 4201 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana, 46953.
