Melissa Sue Volkman-Dining

Melissa Sue Volkman-Dining, age 45, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at her residence. She was born on August 27, 1976 in Vincennes, Indiana, the daughter of Roger and Rita (White) Volkman.

Melissa worked for Unit #20, as a bus driver and secretary for Parkview Elementary School. She attended the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Her hobbies included crafting and shopping with Bailey. She loved her family, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and was a caregiver for her grandfather.

Preceding her in death was one son, Austin Volkman; paternal grandparents, Victor and Patty Volkman; and maternal grandmother, Patricia White.

Survivors include two children, Dalton Dining and wife, Katy of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Bailey Wells and husband, Andy of St. Francisville, Illinois; parents, Roger and Rita Volkman of Sumner, Illinois; two brothers, Corey Volkman and wife, Stephanie of Oregon and Cody Volkman and wife, Ashly of Bridgeport, Illinois; one sister, Lorie Goodwin and husband, Larry of Vincennes Indiana; maternal grandfather, Kenneth White of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two grandchildren, Kash Dining and Camila Dining; eight nieces and nephews, Gavin Volkman, Ethan Volkman, Chloe Volkman, Kaci Volkman, Braden Volkman, Cora Hatton and husband, Dustin, Madison Snider, and Alora Boger; and one great-nephew, Dane Hatton.

A public visitation will be on Thursday, January 06, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Private funeral services will be conducted. Burial will be in the Billett Cemetery.
