Marjorie J. Fisher

Marjorie J. Fisher, age 96, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Oak Village Health Care Center in Oaktown, Indiana. She was born on August 16, 1927 in Manhattan, New York, the daughter of John and Mary V. (Talley) Clarke. She married Elmer Milton Fisher on October 13, 1945, and he preceded her in death on March 26, 1993.

Marjorie was a homemaker and sewed alterations. She enjoyed painting, listening to gospel music, and playing the organ.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers; three sisters; one son, Virgil Fisher; and three grandchildren.

Survivors include nine children, Jane Ellen Cunningham and husband, Robert of Indianapolis, Indiana, Barbara Ann Lemons and husband, Tom of Vincennes, Indiana, John M. Fisher of Vincennes, Indiana, Sandra Kaye Niblett and husband, Rob of Wyoming, Walter Lee Fisher of Switzerland; Michael Wayne Fisher and wife, Diana of Vincennes, Indiana; Edward Allan Fisher of Evansville, Indiana, Christina Marie Neal and husband, Rob of Vincennes, Indiana, and Cathy Hutchinson of Vincennes, Indiana; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois, and may be viewed with the following link: https://www.facebook.com/emmonsmaceysteffey. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
