Lee Ross Brookhart

Lee Ross Brookhart passed away unexpectedly at his home in Hartford, Connecticut on Thursday, September 09, 2021, at the age of 63. Lee was born on February 10, 1958 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of James and Hazel (Fiscus) Brookhart. He graduated from Red Hill High School and attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois and the University of Delaware.

Lee retired from the State of Connecticut Department of Revenue Services and was planning to return to this area. He enjoyed watching all sports and was an avid fan of the Washington Football Team, UCONN and Red Hill Unit #10.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Lee is survived by two children, Lizabeth Brookhart of Tega Cay, South Carolina and Rhys Brookhart of Tucson, Arizona; one sister, Jane Waggoner and husband, Marion of Landenberg, Pennsylvania; and one brother, John Brookhart and wife, Sandra of Sumner, Illinois. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. Lee will also be remembered by the many friends he remained close to from Lawrence County.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, October 01, 2021 at 10:00 AM CDT at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
