Julie Compton Obituary

Julie Ann Compton, age 59, of Sumner, Illinois passed away on Sunday, February 05, 2023 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. She was born on February 21, 1963 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Jewel (Case) Pinnick. She married Joel T. Compton, Jr. in April of 1980, and he preceded her in death on July 14, 2014.

Julie was a phlebotomist in the Charleston, West Virginia area, as well as at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and loved her cats.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; one daughter, Brandy Pinnick; two brothers, Bobby Pinnick and Don Pinnick; one sister, Della Gilbert; and one grandchild.

Survivors include two children, Jillian Wall and husband, Charlie of Mt. Carmel, Illinois and Jason Compton of Dawes, West Virginia; one brother, Robert David Pinnick of Bridgeport, Illinois; two sisters, Naomi Potter of Kansas City Missouri and Sharon McGhee of Independence, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jase Compton, Jordan Compton, Olivia Wall, and Maddison Wall; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Julie’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be no formal services conducted. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
