Juanita L. Wilbur

Juanita L. Wilbur, age 91, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Vincennes, Indiana passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in Lawrenceville, Illinois. She was born on October 15, 1930 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of Sylvester and Pearl (Walls) Carie. She married Robert Ashby, and he preceded her in death. She then married Basil Wilbur, and he preceded her in death in 1994.

Juanita worked at Clark Middle School. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Her hobbies included quilting, reading, taking care of her ponies, cats, and dogs, as well as being a caretaker for her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands; three brothers, Leo Carie, Ray Carie, and Roy Carie; and three sisters, Nellie Hudspeth, Frances Holmes, and Mary Alice Griesemer.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Vickie McCrillis of Florida, Roger Griesemer and wife, Connie of Florida, Gary Griesemer and wife, Deb of Illinois, Sandy Johnson of Illinois, Roberta Oden Tuttle of Tennessee, and Robert Carie of California; as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 10:00 AM CDT at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, Indiana. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
