Jenell McBride, age 87, of Sumner, Illinois passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at her residence. She was born on March 15, 1934 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of John R. and Mable (Green) Worstell. She married her high school sweetheart, William Richard Pepple, and together they raised two children, Johnny and Tina. She married the love of her life, Kenneth J. McBride on November 20, 1971, and he preceded her in death on February 08, 2019.
Jenell attended classes at Vincennes University. She owned and operated The Looking Glass in Sumner, where she was a beautician, herbalist, and nail tech for 50 years. Her memberships included the Shiloh Baptist Church, American Motorcycle Association, ABATE, Sumner Chamber of Commerce, and she was the secretary of the Red Hills Motorcycle Club. She raised miniature horses, and some of them were Hall of Fame status. She won awards for photography and artwork.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; one daughter, Cathy Lynne Pepple; and one brother, Edward Worstall.
Survivors include one son, Johnny R. Pepple of Sumner, Illinois; one daughter, Tina J. Ivers and husband, Steve of Sumner, Illinois; one brother, James Worstell and wife, Virginia of Bridgeport, Illinois; one sister, Mary Pribble of Tennessee; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Private services will be conducted, with the consideration of a celebration of life at a later date. Burial will be in the Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
