Janice Kaye Holmes

Janice Kaye Holmes, age 72, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Willow Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born on July 26, 1949 in Owensboro, Kentucky, the daughter of Howard H. and Edna (Northern) Huffer. She married Russel D. Holmes on November 20, 1976, and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2015.

Janice worked at Golden Rule Insurance for 26 years, and then at Walmart in Lawrenceville. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lawrenceville. Her hobbies included crocheting, embroidering, and working jigsaw puzzles.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband.

Survivors include her sister Joyce Abel and husband, Norman of Vincennes, Indiana.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 1:30 PM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Lawrenceville.
