Jamie Lee Brown, 44, of rural Bridgeport, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born January 6, 1973 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Earl ‘Corky' and Karan (McNew) Brown.
Jamie worked at Lawrence/Crawford Association for Exceptional Citizens. He enjoyed competing in the Special Olympics. He also loved mowing the yard on his Snapper lawn mower, listening to Elvis, and spending Friday nights with Bobes Pizza.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, James and Josephine McNew; paternal grandfather, Robert Brown; one cousin, Douglas James McNew; and uncle, as well as best friend, Kenneth Cessna.
Survivors include his parents, Earl and Karan; one sister, Tina Beth Hughes and husband, Ron, of Mt. Zion, Illinois; paternal grandmother, Lillian Morice Brown of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two nieces, Rachelle Hughes of Mt. Zion, Illinois and Elizabeth ‘Lizzy' Hughes of Mattoon, Illinois; aunts, Sue Cessna of Sumner, Illinois, Crystal Arnold and husband, Joe, of Rock Island, Illinois, and Pam Logan and husband, Dave, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; uncles, Jim McNew and wife, Pat, of Carmi, Illinois, Larry Brown of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Darrell Brown and fiancé, Sandy, of Evansville, Indiana; cousins, Cindy Sneed, Shellie Ellis, Sondra Smith, Dan Arnold, Susan Vandewalle, Jen Swanson, Elizabeth Logan, Ryan Brown, Evan Brown, and Cameron Brown; and his special family, Jeanie Fox and daughters, Jozie and Taylor.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Petty Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Lawrence/Crawford Association for Exceptional Citizens.
