James L. Horn, Jr.

James L. Horn, Jr., age 68, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at the Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on June 03, 1955 in Portsmouth, Virginia, the son of James L., Sr. and Barbara (Riddle) Horn. He married Donna Lynch 50 years ago on January 19, 1974, and she survives.

James was a welder in the United States Navy, and retired as chief after serving for 23 years. His hobbies included riding motorcycles, piddling around, and doing yard work. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Jay Horn.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; two children, Shelli Owens and Lani Horn both of Santa Barbara, California; one sister, Karri Irvin of Lawrenceville, Illinois; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

There will be no formal services conducted. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
