James 'Calvin' Stout
Obituary
James ‘Calvin’ Stout, age 97, of Jerseyville, Illinois formerly of Chauncey, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born on July 7, 1924 in Lawrence County, Illinois to Jimmy B. & Alice E. (Paddick) Stout. He married Charlotte Jane Polk on October 20, 1945 in Lawrence County, Illinois, and she preceded him in death.
Calvin was a farmer and a member of Chauncey Church of God.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; grandson, Jason Stout; four sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include his children: Karen Cornelius, James Stout, and David Stout; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three siblings: Naomi Urfer, Eleanor Sheeks, and Don Stout.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home in Jerseyville, Illinois.
Local funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chauncey Church of God. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour of 2:00 p.m. at the church. Pastor Dwayne Sovdi will be officiating and burial will be in the Chauncey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chauncey Church of God. Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
