James C. ‘Jim' Foreman, Sr., 86, of Russellville, Illinois, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born November 12, 1930 to Everett and Dorothy (Smith) Foreman.
Jim worked as a carpenter and fished the Wabash for many years. He loved to paint, do woodworking, and play guitar. He sang in the gospel group, ‘Spirit Filled' for five years. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict to help rebuild Germany. He was a kind, gentle man, full of knowledge. He was a member of the Russellville Community Church and the VFW. He will be truly missed by family and friends.
Jim is survived by his partner, Viola Harrington; sons, Gale (Sharon) of Carmi, Illinois and Jay (Sheila) of Russellville, Illinois; daughter, Valerie (Rick) Arrowood of Lehigh Acres, Florida; brothers, Carl, Jack, Archie, and Bob; sisters, Julia Harrington and Linda Hoalt; grandchildren, Krystal Chisolm, Kiley Foreman, Gabe Foreman, Brian Foreman, Marly Peed, and April Edmonson; and great-grandchildren, Lathan, Livie, Jolie, River, Madison, Lakelyn, Bella, Mya, Junior, Katie, Tommy, Brandon, Riley, and Anastasia.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Dorma; grandchildren, James and Brianna Arrowood; and great-grandson, Anthony Chisolm.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 10:00 AM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Price Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jim's memory may be made to the Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center & Wig Shoppe or to the Russellville Polar Plunge.
