Jack Dean Roberts, age 87, of Lawrenceville, Illinois was released from the pains of this physical life and welcomed to eternity by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 12:59 PM. He was born on March 07, 1934 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of Gale and Virgie (Parker) Roberts. He married Clara E. Engel on March 17, 1957, and she survives.
Jack was a lifelong grain and livestock farmer, and served his country in the United States Army. His memberships included the Lawrence County Farm Bureau and the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church, where he served as deacon and elder. He enjoyed reading, American history, and doing jig saw puzzles. His family will remember him being quite the story teller, as well as a dedicated husband, dad, and grandfather.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one son, Duane Roberts.
Survivors include his wife, Clara; two children, Dale Roberts and wife, Tammy and Julie Benson and husband, Doug all of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois; two brothers, Bob Roberts and wife, Ellen and Tom Roberts and wife, Kathy all of rural Flat Rock, Illinois; five grandchildren, Hannah Bush, Jackie Benson, Kelsey Roberts, Dillon Roberts, and Abigail Roberts; and two great-grandchildren, Zeke Bush and Tessa Bush.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM CST at the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church, located at 12085 Pinkstaff Lane, Lawrenceville, Illinois 62439. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM CST at the church. Burial will be in the Pollard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the New Hebron Christian School. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
