Inez L. Fisher, 90, of Sumner, Illinois, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016, at the United Methodist Village-North Campus. She was born August 5, 1926, in Lukin Township, Illinois, the daughter of Francis W. and Fannie A. (Poland) Jones. She married Orris Brown on September 5, 1948 and he preceded her in death on March 31, 1987. She then later married William T. Fisher on January 1, 1988 and he preceded her in death on February 20, 2005.
Inez worked at International and Florsheim Shoe Company in Olney, Illinois for 34 years; as well as wrote for the Sumner Press for several years. She was a member of the following organizations: Friendsville Rebekah Lodge No. 162, where she served as the past Noble Grand, past district offices, and past state offices; E. L. Palmer Chapter No. 139 O.E.S., where she served as past Matron, past W.M. for 15 years and later secretary; Sumner Home Extension, where she served past offices; Lawrenceville Eagles No. 3078, where she served past offices; Royal Neighbors Camp 2259 since 1980; Lawrence County past Matron; Lawrence County Home Extension, where she served as the past president; as well as Christian Church in Sumner, Illinois.
Preceding Inez in death were her parents, both her first and second husbands, and three brothers.
Survivors include her nephews, William Ashworth of Olney, Illinois; Verl Jones of Venice, Florida; and Raleigh Abell and his wife, Amy, of Owensville, Missouri; and nieces, Karla Brown-Carlson of Olney, Illinois and Kara Krupinski of Malden, Missouri.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sumner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Inez's memory may be made to the Christian Church in Sumner, Illinois.
