Gail Leonard ‘Smoke’ Patrick, age 72, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021 at is residence. He was born on March 14, 1949 in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of James William and Dorothy Mae (O’Brien) Patrick. He married Terry Sandlin on August 01, 1971, and she preceded him in death on January 20, 2015.
Gail worked for McKim’s IGA and Texaco Refinery. His memberships included the Church of God, Birds Free Methodist Church, Rod & Gun Club, Elks, Moose, and Eagles. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, boating, mushroom hunting, traveling, watching Westerns, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; one daughter, Jodie Gail Patrick; one grandson, Gavin Couch; four brothers, James W. Patrick, Don Patrick, Bill Patrick, and Mike Patrick; and one sister, Francis Williams.
Survivors include three children, Jamey Patrick and wife, Danna of Salem, Illinois, Jada Patrick of Murphysboro, Illinois, and Jenna Thacker of Lawrenceville, Illinois and seven grandchildren, Abigail Rae Patrick, Alicea Mae Patrick, Garran Jace Couch, Krislyn JoLee Thacker, MaKenna JoLyn Thacker, Kadin Jaymes Danielle Thacker, and Kendrick Eli Matthew Thacker.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 01, 2021 at 10:00 AM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Birds Free Methodist Church Building Fund.
