Evelyn L. Eagleson

Evelyn L. Eagleson, age 71, of Sumner, Illinois passed away on Sunday, March 05, 2023 at the Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on July 16, 1951 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of Russell and Opal (Meek) Kimbrel. She married Larry Eagleson on December 14, 1973, and he survives.

Evelyn was a homemaker. She was known as a tagalong sister in her early childhood. She enjoyed her cats, Dot to Dot Books, and taking care of her family. She will be remembered by her family as being beautiful and kind.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Virgil F. Kimbrel and Stanley Kimbrel; and two brothers-in-law, Alva Johnson and Wendell McClure.

Survivors include her husband, Larry; two children, Warren Eagleson and Steven Eagleson both of Sumner, Illinois; one brother, James Kimbrel and wife, Dixie of St. Francisville, Illinois; one sister, Ramona McClure of St. Francisville, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Linda Johnson of Olney, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Karen Black, Helen Henderson, Pamela McClure Campbell, Julia McFarland, Andrea Wilson, Samantha McClure, Cindy Bowman, Amy Lamson, Shelia Kimbrel, Edward McClure, Forest Kimbrel, Irvin Kimbrel, Ohara Kimbrel, and Van Kimbrel; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 08, 2023 at 2:00 PM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
