Eugene Early Obituary
Eugene Early, age 84, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019 at his residence. He was born October 16, 1935 in Charlestown, Indiana, the son of Walter and Elizabeth (Blake) Early. He married Marlene Burton on November 7, 1959 and she preceded him in death on February 23, 1996. He then married Barbara J. Butterfield and she preceded him in death.
Eugene was a truck driver and an avid a St. Louis Cardinals fan. Eugene and his wife, Marlene, were very active charter members of the Calvary Apostolic Church. He was a very loving, caring, and giving man. Eugene and Marlene took family members under their wings for guidance and support.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Marlene; wife, Barbara; four sons, Eugene Early, Jr., Michael Burton, Timothy Bland, and Randall Bland; three sisters; two brothers; and three grandsons, Michael Lemeron, Matthew Lemeron, and David Murphy.
Survivors include three daughters, Pearl ‘Jeanie' Lemeron and husband, J.D., of Flat Rock, Illinois; Lou Ann Reeves of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Sandy Hack of Kentucky; one son, Greg Bland and wife, Vicki, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one brother, Jesse Early of Texas; one sister, Joyce Ann Moreland of Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM CST at the Calvary Apostolic Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM CST at the church. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM CST at the Connelly Switch Cemetery in Mitchell, Indiana. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
