Elfreida Zwilling Obituary
Elfreida Irene Zwilling age 88 of Sumner, Illinois passed away Thursday February 28, 2019 at Lavender Ridge Memory Care in Olney, Illinois. She was born April 10, 1930 the daughter of George V. and Mary M Yost Geiger. She married Elmer Zwilling on September 09, 1952 and he preceded her in death on December 22, 2016.
Elfreida worked as a registered nurse for surrounding hospitals, Lawrence County Memorial Hospital and Richland County Hospital. She worked at Red Hill Nursing home in Sumner, Illinois. She then worked in home healthcare. She was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, and crocheting. She also liked to walk, and was a good baker. She was a loving wife, mother, and was faithful to her church and God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer, and a sister Georgiann Kocher.
Survivors include her children: Michael Zwilling and wife Janice of Diamond, Ohio, Patrick Zwilling of Lake Villa, Illinois, Dr. Thomas Zwilling and wife Margaret of Lincoln, Illinois, George Zwilling and wife Sherrie of Sumner, Illinois and Jane Ann Krout and husband Keith of Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Eight grandchildren: Melissa Landera, Christina Biacofsky, Matthew Zwilling, Shea Zwilling, Jacob Zwilling, Rachel Zwilling, Kevin Krout, Daniel Krout.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday March 2, 2019 at 1:00pm at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Stringtown, Illinois.
The Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
