Dorothy M. Tucker

Dorothy Mae Tucker, age 91, of Robinson, IL (formerly of Lawrence County) passed away Monday, May 20, 2013, at Cotillion Ridge in Robinson. She was born April 16, 1922, in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of Levy and Anna-Belle (Shamley) Earnest. She married Charles Tucker and he preceded her in death. Dorothy was a homemaker. She attended the 6th Street Weslyan Church and the Calvary Apostolic Church in Lawrenceville. Besides her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, four brothers, one sister and one great-grandchild. Survivors include one son, Dale (Kathy) Tucker of Orlando, FL; three daughters, Joann (George) Lewis of Lawrenceville, Annette (Michael) Akers of Bridgeport and Susan Kay (Jim) Wells of Lawrenceville; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 PM Thursday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in May Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society or the Lawrence County Senior Citizens with envelopes available through the funeral home.
