Dorothy M. Hussey, age 91, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at her residence. She was born on March 12, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Charles Marion Morris, Jr. and Virginia Catherine (Sankey) Morris. She married Paul D. Hussey on September 15, 1956, and he preceded her in death on October 22, 2021.
Dorothy worked for Golden Rule, as a CNA for Lawrence County Memorial Hospital, and in her earlier years as a secretary for Hugh Livesay at the Extension Office. She was also an Avon Representative, Weight Watchers Leader, and oversaw Pat’s Kids. Her memberships included the First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville, Lawrence County Country Club, and PEO. Her hobbies included wintering in Florida, playing golf, as well as spending time with her furry companions. She loved spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; one daughter, Charon Lee Hussey; and two grandchildren, Joshua Robert Haist and Jeramiah David Haist.
Survivors include her three daughters, Cathy Wells Haist and husband, Bob of Blairsville, Georgia, Carol Wells Gaddey and husband, David of Tuscola, Illinois, and Cindy Hussey Anthis and husband, David of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; five grandchildren, Heather Dawn Gaddey Ebl and husband, Rob, Heidi Lynn Gaddey Ford and husband, Justin, Holly Marie Gaddey Banta and husband, Rob, Damon Wayne Atkins and wife, Angel, and Felicia Jayne Atkins Fritchley and husband, Buck; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Polly Shaw, Debbie Secrest, and Kate Smirnes for their wonderful care and love of Paul and Dorothy during the last few years.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 07, 2022 at 11:00 AM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the service hour of 11:00 AM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
