Debra K. Frederick

Debra K. Frederick, age 59, of Sumner, Illinois passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at her residence. She was born on September 27, 1961 in Crawford County, Illinois, the daughter of Jim and Carolyn Sue (Price) Cornwell. She was married to Roy E. McDowell, and he survives.

Debra worked at Aperion Care and various nursing homes. Her hobbies included gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Michael Cornwell.

Survivors include her husband, Roy; three sons, Justin McDowell of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Joshua McDowell of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and James McDowell of Sumner, Illinois; one sister, Teresa Schatz of Vincennes, Indiana; two grandchildren, Maddison Cooper and Allyssa McDowell; and one great-grandchild, Bentley Cooper.

Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Sumner Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
