David Dwight Schwingle

David Dwight Schwingle, age 78, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Friday, January 07, 2022 at Aperion Care in Bridgeport, Illinois. He was born on July 29, 1943 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, the son of Glenn and Alnetta (Eckstein) Schwingle. He married Ellen Schwabe on June 15, 1968 at the Pulaski Presbyterian Church in Muscoda, Wisconsin, and she survives.

David was a minister for the United Presbyterian Church in Kerkhoven, Minnesota, First Presbyterian Church in Maynard Minnesota, the First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport, Illinois, and the Pisgah Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport, Illinois. He was also a dairy farmer in Wisconsin, a substitute bus driver for Rustad’s Bus Service in Kerkhoven, Minnesota and for Red Hill Unit #10 in Bridgeport, Illinois, drove a charter bus for Rustad’s Bus Service, and then he retired from ATS in Lawrenceville, Illinois. After his retirement, he became a caregiver for his wife of 53 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Lloyd Schwingle; and one brother-in-law, Rolland Glass.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen; two daughters, Elynn Anderson and husband, Christopher of Vincennes, Indiana and Eydee Bumgarner of Salem, Illinois; one brother, Milo Schwingle and wife, Susan of Cuba City, Wisconsin; one sister, Lorna Schwingle-Glass of Lomira, Wisconsin; one sister-in-law, Ann Schwingle of Platteville, Wisconsin; one brother-in-law, Philip Schwabe and wife, Marilyn of Muscoda, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Dalayna Anderson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Dalyla Anderson of Vincennes, Indiana, Ellee Bumgarner of Salem, Illinois, and Adelynn Bumgarner of Salem, Illinois; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be conducted. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
