Obituary
Christina Ann Cooper, 74, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023 at her residence. She was born on July 28, 1948 in Gary, Indiana, the daughter of Noble J. and Vivian Pauline (Brent) Thompson. She married George Cooper on August 1, 1969, and he preceded her in death on January 6, 2000.
She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant on the Oncology Unit at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana for several years. She and her husband owned and operated a sanitation business in Columbus, Indiana. She enjoyed spending time with family. She was an avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Surviving are three children, Georgegenia Cooper of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Ericia Thomas and her husband, Jason of Niles, Michigan, and Sarah Cooper of Evansville, Indiana; brothers and sisters, Mearly Thompson of Bridgeport, Illinois, Anita Tidwell of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Sonney Thompson of Idaho, Pete Thompson of Springfield, Missouri, Barbara Thompson of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Bryan Thompson of Bicknell, Indiana, Rhonda Harvey of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Pam Kiser of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Katie McLemore of Oklahoma; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Private services will be conducted. Memorial donations may be given to the Lawrence County Library in Christina’s memory.
Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
