Cheva Elaine Shroyer

Cheva Elaine Shroyer, age 81, of Sumner, Illinois, formerly of Flat Rock, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 05, 2023 at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. She was born on November 18, 1941 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Maxine (Boyd) Shroyer. She married Wallace Marshall Dunkin, and they had four children together.

Cheva was a registered nurse, and worked at Good Samaritan Hospital and Regional Hospital. She attended the Bethany Christian Church. She enjoyed floral decorating and working at the Lawrenceville Greenhouse, being on her family farm, reading, and being a huge fan of LeBron James and Donald Trump.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors include four children, Charles Dunkin and wife, Tina of Warner Robins, Georgia, Sabra Parrott and husband, Delbert of Sumner, Illinois, Dustin Dunkin and wife, Natalie of Chauncey, Illinois, and Misty Jensen and husband, Todd of Terre Haute, Indiana; one brother, Lanny Shroyer and wife, Wilma of Flat Rock, Illinois; two sisters, Sharon Potts and husband, Jack of Terre Haute, Indiana and Candy Fielden and husband, Rob of Indiana; 11 grandchildren, Tylor Dunkin, Brittney Sharpe, Delbert Parrott III, Whitley Straka, Presley Albertson, Makayla Bogard, Makenna Weger, Ali Andrews, Layni Andrews, Ryder Wesley, and Lainey Wesley; as well as 13 great-grandchildren, and the anticipated arrival of another one.

Services will be conducted at a later date. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
