Charles Michael 'Mike' Kearby, Sr.

Charles Michael ‘Mike’ Kearby, Sr., age 72, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at his residence. He was born on January 22, 1951 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of Charles Jacob Kearby and Viola Delores (Bird) Kent. He was married to Stanzie Montgomery, and she preceded him in death on November 01, 2012.

Mike served his country in the United States Army. He worked for Billingsley Construction and Victor Dana. He was a life member of the VFW, and an avid rider of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; and one brother, Marcus Kearby.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Michael ‘Mike’ Kearby, Jr. and wife, Katherine of Pekin, Illinois, Shawn Kearby of South Carolina, and Nathan Kearby of Dixon, Kentucky; three daughters, Michelle Ochs and husband, Rodney of Newton, Illinois, Alisha Hayes and husband, Josh of Flat Rock, Illinois, and Anna Tewell and husband, Leo of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one half-brother, Gary C. Kearby; two half-sisters, Teri Carroll and Sherry Havenstein; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren, with the anticipated arrival of two more.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the service hour of 11:00 AM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery, with military rites.
