Arthur E. Buchanan

Arthur E. Buchanan, age 70, of rural St. Francisville, Illinois peacefully passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 29, 2021 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on June 29, 1950 in Vincennes, Indiana. He was the third of six children born to Clement and Mina (Van Holstyn) Buchanan. He married Elsa Christenson on July 26, 1975, and she survives.

Arthur lived and farmed in Lawrence County all of his life. He enjoyed being with his friends and family, singing with his grandchildren, traveling, and woodworking. He valued the Word of God and Christian fellowship.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters, Rebecca Buchanan and Rose Jacobsen.

Survivors include his wife, Elsa; three children, Hans Buchanan and wife, Susanna of St. Francisville, Illinois, Barry Buchanan and wife, Olivia of St. Francisville, Illinois, and Heidi Wright and husband, Tim of Carmel, Indiana; three siblings, Douglas Buchanan and wife, Barbara of St. Francisville, Illinois, Joan Pascoe and husband, Paul of Perth, Canada, and Eileen Adkins and husband, Neil of Tehachapi, California; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wesley and Helen Christenson of Red Bluff, California; and eight grandchildren, Annie Wright, Caroline Wright, William Wright, Tucker Wright, Jadon Buchanan, Jared Buchanan, Elisha Buchanan, and Lydia Buchanan.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, April 03, 2021 at 3:00 PM CDT at the Buchanan Cemetery, located six miles south of Lawrenceville on Illinois Route 1. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois.
