William L Hawkins

William L. Hawkins, 74, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Friday July 8, 2016 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, IL. He was born July 14, 1941 in Knox County, IN the son of Stanley F. and Bernadine Cleo (Moran) Hawkins. On November 9, 1968 he married Linda Wells. She survives. Bill worked at Witco Chemical in Lawrenceville as Granular Bagger Operator for several years. He was a member of the Lawrenceville Free Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Lawrenceville Eagles and Moose. He served as Player Agent for the Lawrenceville Little League and Minor League for many years. In 1963-1964 and in 1964-65 Bill bowled for the Thermagas Bowling Team and they were Illinois League Champions. He also bowled for Witco. Along with his wife Linda, he is survived by his mother Bernadine Hawkins of Vincennes, IN, a son: Arvin Hawkins of Lawrenceville, IL, daughter: Chandra Roberts of Lawrenceville, IL, an adopted daughter: Angela Sandbeck of Washington, IN, two brothers: Kenneth Hawkins of Flat Rock, IL John Hawkins and his wife Sheila of Terre Haute, IN, and a granddaughter: Samantha Smith of Washington, IN. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00pm at the Lawrenceville Free Methodist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association, Parkinson's Foundation or to Diabetes Association.
