Willa Jean Devin Meehan

Willa Jean Devin Meehan, 56, of Terre Haute, IN was born February 9, 1957 in Lawrenceville, IL to Kenneth and Becca (Eagle) Devin. She graduated Lawrenceville High School and attended SIU-Carbondale and Lincoln Trail College where she completed an RN degree. Post-graduate studies were done at Indiana State University. She married Carl Meehan Oct. 1, 1994 in Terre Haute, IN. She worked in area hospitals as an RN until joining Visiting Nurses home health care where she worked for 17 years. Willa's caring and empathic nature was matched only by her love of animals, specifically her beloved pets Marco Dane, Chappie, and Elliott. She was comforted during her illness by Cole, her lap dog. Willa's laughter and enthusiasm for friends and family was boundless. Willa's life ended on Saturday January 25, 2014 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN while in the company of friends and family. Willa was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Devin and her grandparents. Surviving include her husband Carl Meehan, mother Becca Devin, mother-in-law Dessie Leonard, brother Lonnie Devin, nephews Zachary Devin and Will Devin, niece Maggie Schmidtknecht, sister-in-law Deb Schmidtknecht and her husband Greg. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00pmCST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 4:00 until 7:00pmCST at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Red Cross and the Red Cross Blood Bank.
