Wilbert Ochs

Wilbert J. Ochs, 82, of Claremont, IL passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. Wilbert was born May 17, 1930 in Ste. Marie, IL, to Ephriam and Monica (Rohr) Ochs. Wilbert married Carolyn Whalen on November 12, 1951 and she survives. Wilbert was a farmer and a Korean War Veteran in the United States Army. He was a member of the Olney American Legion Post #30 and VFW Post # 4226. Wilbert was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Bridgeport, IL. Wilbert was preceded in death by his parents, one son Gregory Ochs, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters. Survivors include his loving wife Carolyn, one son; Jim (Tammy) Ochs, two daughters; Nancy Daugherty all of Claremont, IL., Michele McCumber and her fiancé Dennis Baker of Colorado Springs, CO., and one sister Marie Snow of Springfield, IL., 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. One sister in law Rosemary Johnson of Seattle,Wash. and several nephews and nieces. Visitation will be on Thursday September 13, 2012 at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Service will be on Friday September 14, 2012 at 10 AM at Saint Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, IL. Burial will follow at Lawrenceville City Cemetery with military rites. Memorial donations may be made to St. Judes with envelopes available through the funeral home.
