Wilber D. Cummins

Wilber D. Cummins, age 78, of Lawrenceville, IL, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013, at his residence. He was born August 20, 1934, the son of Vernon "Pete" and Velma (DeLong) Cummins. He married Dolores Hayes on August 20, 1954 and she passed away January 22, 2008. Wilber was a member of the Pinkstaff United Methodist Church and Moose Lodge 779. He worked as a carpenter through the Indiana Carpenters Union until retirement. Preceding Wilber in death were his parents, his wife Dolores, and a son-in-law David F. Hinton. Survivors include two sons Dennis Cummins and Daniel (Cindy) Cummins all of Lawrenceville; three daughters Debra (John) Ragin of Lawrenceville, Donna Hinton of Bridgeport, and Deanna (John) Russell of rural Lawrenceville; two brothers Willard (Karen) Cummins of Lawrenceville and Warren "Barney" Cummins of Abingdon, IL; two sisters Grace (Tom) Calvert of Lawrenceville and Mary Krise of Kansas City, MO; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the hour of service at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice with envelopes available through the funeral home.
