Ward James Clark, age 51, of Sumner, Illinois, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville. He was born February 14, 1963, the son of Charles H. Clark and Dolores Manskee. He married Sherrie Kelly on July 1, 1984 and she survives.
Ward worked at a foundry where he made cast iron counterweights in Martinsville, Illinois. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was a member of ABATE and the Illinois Tomahawk Association.
Preceding Ward in death were his father, Charles; his step-mother Edna Kathryn; and one brother, Herbert Keith LeLoup.
Survivors include: His wife, Sherrie of Sumner; two sons Darrin Clark of Sumner and Douglas Clark (Keller) and wife Sara of Louisville, Illinois; four brothers Charles "Chucky" Henry Clark, Jr. of Texas, Toby Allen Scarborough of Wisconsin, Chalmer Joseph Clark of Wisconsin, and David Eugene LeLoup of Indiana; three sisters Denny Lyn Boatley of New Mexico, Karla Jean Clark of Illinois, and Lila Jean Sanders of Illinois; two step-grandchildren J.C. and J.J. and two dogs Sissy and Shadow.
A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, at Sumner Free Methodist Church in Sumner. The body will be cremated.
