Walter R. "Bud" Crews, 78, of Lawrenceville passed away Wednesday April 16, 2008 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. Born September 6, 1929 in Lawrence County, he was the son of William J. and Opal (Hinchman) Crews. On July 15, 1950 he married Jean Johnson. She survives.He had worked at the Texaco Refinery in the Intrument Department and retired after 35 years. He attended the United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Elks.Survivors include a son: Robert R. (Karen) Crews of Lawrenceville, IL, a daughter: Judy (Paul) Swing Jr. of Frankfort, IL, a sister: Ruth Irwin of Lawrenceville, IL, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.Visitation is Friday from 5 to 8PM.
