Vivian Dolores "Dee" Hooks of Percy, IL (formerly of Lawrence County) died Friday, May 11, 2012 at her home with her son and daughter-in-law at her bedside. She was born March 7, 1922 to Art and Lula (Cochran) Gosnell in Lawrenceville, IL. She married Maurice L. Hooks on September 12, 1940 and he passed away March 9, 1999. Vivian was a homemaker. She was active with both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She previously worked as a bookkeeper for Suttle Apparatus. She was active in R.S. Prussia and Royal Bayreuth Associations. She operated an antique business with her husband specializing in fine china, and provided input and appraisals for several antique price guides. She enjoyed reading mysteries. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Maurice, her parents, three brothers Kenneth, Carl and Eugene, one sister Lena, and one grandchild Leslie. Survivors include four children Maurice Jr. (Nancy) Hooks of Silverdale, WA, Jayne Jensen of Issaquah, WA, Jean Hooks of St. George, UT, Charles (Rosemary) Hooks of Percy, IL, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM Thursday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
