Virginia M. Turner

Virginia M Turner, age 85, of Bridgeport (formerly of rural Lawrenceville) passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Lawrence Community Health Care Center in Bridgeport. She was born May 2, 1926 in Lawrence County, IL the daughter of Lyman and Glenna (Markley) Judy. She married Lovell Turner on June 29, 1946 and he died June 7, 1988. Virginia worked at Golden Rule Insurance until retirement. She was a member of Island Free Methodist Church. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include one son Eddie Turner and wife Peggy of rural Lawrenceville; one daughter Lovel Mae Rodgers of Lawrenceville; two brothers Larry Judy of rural Bridgeport and Jack Judy of Newton, IL; one sister Eloise Akers of rural Lawrenceville and four grandchildren Jeff Adams, Jennifer Adams, Janelle Adams, and Nicole Brown. Six great-grandchildren also survive. Services will be 10 AM Monday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Food Pantry at the Island Free Methodist Church. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
