Virginia Love Leighty

Virginia Love Leighty, 92, of Lawrenceville passed away Sunday March 1, 2009 at her residence.She was born August 30, 1916 in Chauncey, IL  the daughter of Silas and Lotta (Mountz) Keplinger. She married Kenneth Leighty on February 2, 1935.She was a hairdresser for several years. She was the owner of Syds Place, Inc. since 1987 where she sold her famous taco's throughout several counties and neighboring states. She was a member of the Elks, Moose, Eagles, and American Legion. Virginia enjoyed meeting people and traveling.She is survived by a son: Larry Leighty of Larose, IL, a daughter: Kay and husband Bill Fowler of Lawrenceville, IL, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and 3 step-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son: Jerry.The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00pm at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Keplinger Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
