Virgina M. Strange

Virginia M. Strange, age 89, of Lawrenceville passed away Monday, July 12, 2010 at United Methodist Village North Campus. She was born November 29, 1920 in Vincennes, IN the daughter of Benjamin and Josephine (Richardville) Heines. Virginia married Louis B. Strange July 13, 1943 and he died September 22, 2000.Virginia was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She was a member of the Altar Society and was very involved with the Girl Scouts and Camp Fire Girls. Virginia belonged to bridge clubs and enjoyed playing golf in her younger years. She worked at Montgomery Ward where she was co-manager with her husband Louis B.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons John Lewis Strange (infant) and William P. Strange; six brothers and one sister Clara Heines.Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Rodriguez of Lawrenceville, IL and Suzanne (Larry) Boyer of Freeport, IL; three sisters-in-law Barbara (Paul) Heines of Vincennes, IN, Nita (Tony) Heines of TX, and Mary Katherin (Bob) Heines of Indianapolis, IN; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, IL.Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.Memorials may be made to the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Camp Girls, or the Good Samaritan Hospice with envelopes available through the funeral home.
