Veva M. Vowells

Veva M. Vowells, 93, of Sumner, IL passed away Wednesday November 25, 2009 at Lawrence Community Healthcare in Bridgeport, IL.She was born May 20, 1916 in Landes, IL the daughter of Odin and Sarah (Baker) Pepple. On November 3, 1934 she married Leon Vowells. He preceded her in death in 1982.She is survived by a son: Richard L. Vowells of Sumner, IL, 2 grandchildren: Terry and wife Debbie Vowells of Francisco, IN, Deb and her husband Dave Arnold of Lawrenceville, IL, 5 great-grandchildren,and 6 great-great-grandchildren. A son Larry Vowells, 6 brothers and 3 sisters are deceased.She worked at the Olney Shoe Factory and was also a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Lawrenceville, IL and a member of Eastern Star.The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00am at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner. Burial will follow at Sumner Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 5:00 until 7:00pm with an Eastern Star Service at 6:30pm.Memorial donations may be given to the First Christian Church.
